MVMS – Meet the Principal

David Holinger, MVMS Principal

I am excited to join the RSU 3 family and bring my almost 20 years of experience in education, at ALL levels, to the district.  I earned my BS in Marine Science and Education, with a minor in Oceanography from the University of New England. I started my teaching career in 2002 in Old Orchard Beach, where I was named the Maine biology teacher of the year by the National Association of Biology Teachers.  When my family decided to move to Lewiston, I began teaching at Lewiston High School, where I spent many years teaching 9th grade Earth Systems Science. In 2018 I earned my masters in educational leadership from Thomas College in Waterville. Before coming to RSU3, I was the Head of School at the Kennebec Montessori School in Fairfield.

I live in Belgrade, with my wife, our 4 children (Logan, Piper, Wyatt and Eleanor), and our dog Juneau.  I am excited to be at the complex and have the opportunity to support the students and families of Mount View Middle School and all of RSU 3.  I am passionate about supporting the social, emotional, academic and personal growth of our students.
