MVES – Meet The Principal

Charles Brown, Principal

I joined Mount View Elementary School after four years of administrative service in RSU #78.  I have experience in K-12 administration and athletics, as well as being a classroom teacher in grades 1-8. In total, I have 18 years of experience in education.  I hold a Master’s degree in Education Administration and an additional Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Phoenix and a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maine at Farmington.  I have taken additional course work from Endicott College and University of Maine at Orono.

I am a member of the Maine Principal’s Association, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and The School Superintendent’s Association.

Outside of working in education, I am an avid soccer official. Officiating soccer from the youth through top amateur, professional development leagues, and high school through college levels.  In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors; hiking, camping, fishing, boating, the ocean, and spending time with my yellow lab, Ruger. Additionally, I am a travel enthusiast and have traveled to places such as Iceland, England, Scotland, France, Italy, Costa Rica, various Canadian Provinces, and many states in the US.
I bring a passion for learning and doing what is best for students to MVES.
