|Linux Terminal Server Project (LTSP) is a free and open source terminal server for Linux that allows many people to simultaneously use the same computer. Applications run on the server with a terminal known as a thin client (also known as an X terminal) handling input and output. Generally, terminals are low-powered, lack a hard disk and are quieter than desktop computers because they do not have any moving parts.
This system greatly reduces the cost and resources required to provide multiple people with computers since maintenance and upkeep is performed only on one computer instead of 30-40 computers.

|Moodle (abbreviation for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment) is a free source e-learning software platform, also known as a Course Management System, Learning Management System, or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). As of October 2010 it had a user base of 49,952 registered and verified sites, serving 37 million users in 3.7 million courses.
Moodle was originally developed by Martin Dougiamas to help educators create online courses with a focus on interaction and collaborative construction of content, and is in continual evolution.
This system offers our teachers the opportunity to provide everything from a list of web links to full fledged online courses.
|VMWARE is virtualization software, this allows us to have multiple virtual servers on a single physical server, which decreases the cost of hardware and the cost of electric to run the servers.
Currently we have approximately 38 virtualized servers running on 8 physical servers.
