Meet The Superintendent

Charles Brown, Superintendent

I am excited to move into the role of Superintendent of Schools after serving two years as the principal at Mount View Elementary School. In this new role I hope to continue the great work of our school district and to work collaboratively with the whole school community to do what is best for our students.

I have worked in various administrator roles from athletics to principal for the past 10 years. In addition, I have taught at the elementary and middle school level. In total, I have 20 years of experience as an educator in Maine. I hold a Master’s degree in Education Administration and an additional Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Phoenix and a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maine at Farmington.  I have taken additional course work from Endicott College and University of Maine at Orono.

I am a member of the Maine Principal’s Association, the Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Maine School Superintendents Association and The School Superintendent’s Association.

Outside of working in education, I am an avid soccer official. Officiating soccer from the youth through top amateur, professional development leagues, and high school through college levels.  In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors; hiking, camping, fishing, boating, the ocean, and spending time with my yellow lab, Ruger. Additionally, I am a travel enthusiast and have traveled to places such as Iceland, England, Scotland, France, Italy, Spain, Costa Rica, various Canadian Provinces, and many states in the US.
