Mount View High School is excited to invite you to a community presentation/forum on August 8th at 6 pm in the high school auditorium. The high school has been working closely with students, parents, and faculty to ensure that we are meeting the needs of all students and the path to graduation is clear. We have proposed a potential change to “Graduation Standards and Requirements Policy IKF”. The school board policy committee will revisit the policy directly after the forum and will take parent feedback into consideration.
There are two major changes to the proposed policy:
·Students will continue to have access to the credit based system. (This would have changed for the class of 2021 if the policy had not been revisited)
·Students will have the ability to accumulate credits through multiple pathways. These pathways will allow for greater individualization of instruction. The policy has additionally been updated to account for other state required changes, such as the Maine State Guiding Principles.

The evenings presentation will also include an outline of a new grading procedure, clarifying how proficiency is obtained within the credit based system.
